Post CNC Texture
For those of you with a CNC .....
As you know, routing bitmap textures can be a slow process, especially once you get below 15% stepover. Here's one moves along very quickly, since it's just 2 pocket toolpaths.
Depending on the size of the sign ( in this case I used a .125" ballnose) create a pocket toolpath with a 99% stepover, & turn it 45*. Then , the same toolpath with it turned -45*.
The end result looks a lot like knurled metal. With the bigger bits, you might need to run another pocket with an endmill to knock off the hight points .... mine are usually small so I just give it one swipe with the sandpaper ....

I think this would be awesome & appropriate for a "light industrial" sign, like for a machine shop. I've been practicing it on wedding presents

Nael, if it's not pouring rain, I'll take you & Shannon sandblasting. A forewarning ... it ain't fun. Intriguing though, the first time.
Sand gets  everywhere
