making a big splash of green and white
Last Wed. June 2, this was painted on Main Street of our town, Unity, Saskatchewan. This is the logo of the provincial CFL football team the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The team is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. The logo is 26feet tall and 44 feet long. It took about 25 rider fans about 4 1/2 hours to paint the green square with the logo and lettering and the yardage markers, which are 63 feet apart, down the two blocks. We did the layout to make it as easy as possible for everyone to draw and paint. We did this to enter a contest to be named Riderville. If Unity is selected as Riderville we will win $25,000.00 to go towards our highschool football program. Riderville will be selected based on the best fans. A neighbor boy has made the team this year as a linebacker, so it would be really neat to win this contest.

Surely THAT can't be beat, wow! Weyburn is trying to be Riderville but I thought their efforts were a bit lame. Good luck, Unity!
